Alluvial Diamonds - Nature's Unique Gift
“I love a sunburnt country, A land of sweeping plains, Of ragged mountain ranges, Of droughts and flooding rains”
– Dorothea Mackellar
The leading feature in this collection is the deep ochre-coloured fancy shaped diamonds and the distinctive way they “tumble” through each design; like a rolling stone.
The richness of yellow gold embodies the warmth of the diamonds while the white gold and white diamonds give a striking visual contrast. Each and every diamond in this collection is unique in both the colour it bears and the shape in which the lapidarist has fashioned it. No two pieces are the same.

Alluvial Diamonds by definition are rough diamond crystals that over millions of years have been naturally eroded from their original formation (inside Kimberlite rock) and dispersed over thousands of kilometres through rivers and streams. The Kimberley region of Western Australia hosts many of these ancient deposits, many of which still remain undiscovered. The Kimberley mesmerises visitors with the pristine nature of its vast ochre landscape of rocky gorges, cascading waterfalls, deserts and abundant native flora. It is here, in this hauntingly remote vista, where Mother Nature harbours the ultimate treasures – diamonds.
“Through the techniques and knowledge I acquired during my studies in Antwerp under the watchful eye of my mentor, I bring this collection to life through delicate hammer setting and micro pavé diamond setting. I am only one of three Australians to have been accepted in this elite training facility and have been fortunate enough to attain a lifetime of skills and techniques only acquired by a select few.” – Jodi Penfold
