HANNAH ALEXANDER

Apprentice Jeweller

“I love being a jeweller because everyday you are working with new things, and constantly learning along the way.”

Born and schooled in Perth, WA, upon finishing Year 12, Hannah enrolled in 3D Design at university, while working part time in a boutique jewellery store, specialising in locally hand crafted jewellery.

Hannah quickly developed a passion for jewellery design and left university to pursue her dream of becoming a jeweller, attending a privately run jewellery school. A year later, much to her delight, she was offered the opportunity of a lifetime – a four year jewellery apprenticeship with Jewels of the Kimberley, in beautiful Broome.  Without giving it a second thought, she accepted the offer, packed her car, waved goodbye to her family for the very first time and arrived in sunny Broome.

As part of her apprenticeship, Hannah attends regular study blocks at TAFE, while gaining valuable hands on experience in the workshop with Jodi and Ty.  She will also have the opportunity to experiment with her newly found skills by entering her very own designs in up and coming jewellers competitions and expo’s.

Boab Tree Pendant Yellow Gold

“I love the joy a piece of jewellery can bring to someone no matter how big or small. Its amazing to be a part of their journey to create a bespoke piece that will become a loved family heirloom.”

Hannah is most excited to be learning about and working with the unique and precious coloured diamonds and pearls that the Kimberley has to offer. Watch this space…

WINNER of the 2018 Diamond Guild Awards Emerging Talent Category

Name: Vogue

Inspiration:  I wanted to create a piece that puts a red carpet spin on an old classic design like the traditional halo. Having an open design allows for the design to be elegantly simple but complex to understand. I have paired the elegant white gold that complements the white diamonds with accents of rose gold as it is very ‘on-trend’ in the fashion world at the moment, making it perfect for the red Carpet.

Description:  18ct white gold floating cocktail ring featuring a bezel set GIA laser engraved 0.50ct Pear shape white diamond, F colour, VS2 clarity, on a rose gold pear inspired Á-jour gallery, which then wraps around the finger and flares apart to hold cascading pear shapes in 18ct Rose Gold leading to a suspended Halo of fishtail set small round brilliant cut white diamonds (0.50ct total weight of Halo, 1.00ct total diamond weight of piece)
