Caring for your Pearls

1. Protect your pearls by storing them separately from other jewellery – preferably in a soft pouch or a lined jewellery case.

2. Apply all skin creams, make-up, hair sprays and perfumes before wearing your pearls.

3. Remove your pearls when swimming, gardening and showering.

4. Strands should be checked regularly, and may occasionally need restringing.

5. Cleaning pearls is not complicated.  After you wear them, just wipe them off with a soft cloth, which can be dry or damp.  This will prevent dirt from accumulating and keep perspiration, which is slightly acidic, from eating away at the pearl nacre.
